    I previously had a builder basic Frigidaire freestanding stove I hated it. The oven baked uneven and it did not hold a constant temperature. I bought a Frigidaire Gallery convection oven because of recommendation from a friend. The oven works perfectly and I love the steam clean feature. But, the stove is too hot. I turn it down to low or simmer and it keeps boiling. It will take some practice using so everything is not dried out or burned.

    This stove/oven is very efficient. There are no bells and whistles which I like. The one main issue I had was (and the directions warn you of this) when the oven was turned on for the fist time, toxic fumes and smoke filled the room for over an hour. It was not quite as much the second time. Why can™€™t this burn off process be complex at the factory? I would buy this unit again but figure out how to plug it in outside before it is installed for the burn off.

    I bought the gallery series including stove, refrigerator, and microwave. I can recommend the refrigerator and microwave. I cannot recommend the stove. The stove has a defect that has not been resolved. The stovetop becomes too hot to touch when the oven is in use for 20 plus minutes. No burners are in use. The hot area of the stovetop is about 4 inches inward from the oven door. The store where I purchased the stove started this is normal. This is NOT normal .It is hot enough to burn skin. Remember no burners are on and had not previously been on. The oven is making the stovetop very hot. I wish the company would help.

    A comparison of new range vs old range.new - looks great, very modern / old - outdatednew - easier to clean bottom of oven / old - difficult/dangerous to clean around warm heating elementnew - stove top gets hot when oven is on / old - stove top did not get hot when oven is onnew - stove top requires special cleaner to look its best / old - stove top looked great with a dishrag and a towel drynew - 2 generic lights indicate when range is being used / old - individual light for each burnernew - burner knob numbers very light, difficult to read / old - distinctive numbers for burner heatnew - range top crowded, little space between burners / old - room for spoons, spatulas, etc between burners.new - drawer is smaller / old - drawer was much biggerOverall I am not that impressed with the new stove.
