Don't Buy This AC Unless You Want Water Damage

I bought this AC less than a month ago, from Lowe's. And ever since then it's been leaking. Profusely. Unless I use the fan setting. We are in a heatwave in NYC right now so I can't do that. And have had to sacrifice my floors (because even with layers of towels, the leakage is so intense my baseboards show signs of water damage now) I followed all troubleshooting necessary per GE's website. But nothing worked, because the issue wasn't on how I installed it- it was on GE's poor manufacturing. When I contacted them to have the AC repaired, they made an appointment for a technician to come out- only to call me the day of the appointment to reschedule for the following day (that's fine, these things happen) but less than an hour late they called again to tell me the appointment had been canceled altogether because apparently they don't service this appliance! (Why not?!) They proceeded to tell me they'd provide me with reimbursement to get a NEW one - minus the tax, which was $40. I am floored by how poorly this was handled. I ended up contacting Lowe's directly and they were far more understanding and helpful. Returning it today for a FULL refund, barring anymore unforeseen issues. Won't be buying another GE appliance until y'all fix yourself.

While this unit is a little pricey, it was totally worth it. Also feels so secure in my second story window.

I was terrified of putting a traditional window AC unit in my 2nd floor bedroom window. I hated the idea of needing to install a bracket into the window frame to keep the unit from falling out the window and crashing to the ground below. When searching for window units of this BTU range, I found this awesome one that wraps around the lower half of the windowsill and places the weight on the bottom of the window, evenly distributing the weight and eliminating the risk of the unit falling out. As far as functionality, it's great! The Eco setting of the fan fades out to be gentle background noise after just a few minutes. The wifi feature (if you choose to use it) can see when your phone leaves the house and set the unit to "away mode" to conserve energy, then switch back to "home mode" once you get back and start cooling a bit more. I took my time with the installation, reading the instructions probably 3 times before putting a single thing in the window. I cleaned the window and windowsill thoroughly and put each thing in place carefully. When I was done, the window was thoroughly sealed, the unit was securely in place, and nothing moved or shifted from where it should be. 10/10 - Would recommend, especially for people scared of a window unit falling out (or being dislodged by a criminal to get inside)

It's a nice air conditioner, cools room well so far yet haven't used with high humidity outside yet. I have another saddle A/C unit by another manufacturer and this GE Appliances compares well except for these few items. 1. The temperature display does not continuously stay illuminated. 2. The inside air levers blow more 'upward' instead of 'outward' into the room. 3. The "saddle" is thicker, not a huge issue and probably due to the depth adjustment feature. 4. The top unit outside has vents which allows leaves, debri and water into the unit, the other unit I have is solid. Overall it's a nice unit and I like the "split' or 'saddle' design. It is quiet and allows for less window obstruction. I would recommend for the adjustable depth (if needed).

The Clearview is a gem. Easy installation (somewhat) and extremely quiet. I am quite pleased with the unit. Only issue is trying to contact support and product parts. I screwed up a little on the part called "Cut-to-size Foam - side panel" and I would like a new piece. Unable to locate the part after repeated conversations. Told to call Home Depot, but they don't quite know what I'm talking about and don't carry it anyway after visiting store. It is high density foam in solid white. Hopefully by reading this, they can send me a new one.

The drain port is on the INSIDE part of the unit that is IN your house rather than outside and constantly drains water. I have to use a bucket to collect the water and am continually emptying it. Horrible design! Why would you have an AC drain on the INSIDE of someone's house? Stupid!

This AC unit is absolutely wonderful. It took 2 people to install this window unit but it was pretty easy to do. I love the unique design of this unit so much. It fits OVER the window sill instead of sitting on top of it, which allows me to see out of my window. No more big, bulky units taking up almost half of my window! It's also super sleek looking as well. I love it so much, I want the rest of my units replaced to this design. The unit cool my room quickly and efficiently and definitely it not as loud as other units. I like that the displays dims after so long because I like my room be as dark as possible when I sleep, so that is a handy little feature. You can also connect this to wifi and use your phone or smart speaker to control it. There are extra features when connecting to your phone, such as setting it up to turn on when you arrive home (via location services) and monitoring your energy consumption. This is such a step up from the a/c units i've had in the past and would definitely recommend this product.

Installation definitely requires 2 people to install safely and can be a bit tricky with a larger windowsill. Once installed, the first think you notice is how much better it looks over traditional window AC units. Maintaining most of your view and natural light is definitely an underappreciated feature. As for cooling, it can overcome hot and humid Florida in a medium sized room, but be careful to make sure the condensation flows properly out the back.

This air conditioner is just the syle I have been waiting for. Other air conditioner unit I have used leaked into the windowsill and ruined my drywal...twice. This unit seems to not allow that and I love it. This one has been put in my bedroom but I will definitely be looking to see if there is a larger one that can be installed in my main living area. It's an impressive unit for a small room. It's very quiet, easy to install, and can still use the functionality of the window. For the install, My husband was able to install the unit himself but probably would have been better as a two person job. With this unit, it seems solid so I'm not worried about it leaking. My kids room is the hottest in our house, so by adding this unit I'm able to get there room to a good temperature while not having to waste tons of money trying to cool our whole upstairs.

This is a really great ac, it works really well and is very quiet while in use. It's easy to install and takes no time at all. One of the better things about this one is that fact you can have your window open at the same time. Works really well with the app and the app is easy to use and understand.

I'm so happy I have the AC. It works so well and will keep a small room very cool in the summertime. Be sure to have two people help to install the unit as it is very heavy. This is definitely worth the purchase.

We love our new AC! It was very easy to install and the operation on a daily basis is easy to use. It cools down the room in a short time. We live in the sunniest place on earth so having a good AC and being cool is a must.

This window air conditioner was well made! My husband was surprised when we set it up. It very mordernistic and versatile. Very easy to set up. We just needed to add an extension code though, to reach the outlets as needed. You may come across that little detail as well. It's overall very beautiful and not an eyesore like some of the other window ACs we've had in the past. 5 star experience and item for us - highly recommended!

This window unit is an amazing addition to my garage gym set up. I have a window on the side and was able to install this unit in that window. It does a great job of getting cold fresh air into a two car garage. It is a quiet unit as well. Very easy to install with minimal tools.

When I received this product and I saw it I was excited. I have a small room less than 200sq ft and I knew it would be perfect. Had it installed and it works great. The room cooled pretty fast. So I'm very happy with it. I definitely recommend it. My father in law even went to purchase one for his room. Happy customer.
