This a cool little portable unit and my first one. The setup took longer than it should have, because it was missing parts. (All brackets and screws) I bought it from Loews and it was repackage but I shouldn't have assumed that the major box store wouldn't have sold me some new that was missing parts. The unit is awesome and living in FL, this lil backup plan is a must have!!!

Heavy, missing parts and had to exchange. Not very portable, requires lots of securing with screws. Frustrating instructions that weren't very clear. The vents don't stay up, they somewhat slowly slide down so I had to use a piece of tape to keep it open

I have had this for almost 9 months, works great. Now E2 popped up so I went to manual and nothing...went online and researched...nothing...called customer service...they have no idea and can't help me. What a waste!!!!! They told me to call another 800 number and I was on hold for over an hour...no one...left message...nothing. POOR Customer Service.

It was easy to assemble. And did the job for what I wanted it to do and that was basically cool up my room, it's quiet And works well with the remote sets the temperature. Not too complicated.

This unit worked fine for about 3 months. It may have been a tad small for our bedroom as it never cooled efficiently but was tolerable. After about 1 month, it started shutting off in the middle of the night. We have kept it drained. Cleaned the filter and coils etc... My elderly mother lives with us so we keep the house quite warm for her. Due to that, my wife and I needed a way to keep our bedroom cool year round. We purchased two of these units and the one in my son's room does exactly the same thing. It will shut off, turn back on, run a few minutes, and then shut off again. We would like to be able to return both of them and purchase something of better quality.

I love my air conditioner. I live in a trailer and our air is not that great and this has been a life saver this summer because I just had a baby. Works for as long as you need it to and easy to clean the filters.

I love it it is nice to have it because my house has a swamp cooler and on Smokey days I can't run it I live in California where there's a lot of fires going on right now and this little GE unit has saved me it's totally awesome

Installed in my sons College dorm which was sweltering when we arrived. I literally bought this online with Lowes, drove there and came back to set it up. Took about an hour to get it situated with the window rig and I did end up insulating the exhaust hose with fiberglass tape, it seemed like a lot of heat was coming back into the room just over the length of that hose. Otherwise very pleased and it doesn't appear to be creating that much condensation, the upper drain outlet is a nice feature, not sure why you'd want to use the bottom one and have to lift the unit.

I have only been using this for a few days but I love it! It is a little loud but I don't mind it at all because I need some noise to sleep. Keeps my bedroom at a cool 72 degrees and I sleep so well!

The short review is I returned the unit for a refund.
The set up was ok and I got it working but I think this may be a better solution for a room that is completely unairconditioned. In my place, it was used in my study, which is a part of the main house. I live in South Texas so of course my house is air conditioned. It gets rather warm in the study during the afternoons since it indirectly faces the sun. Add computer equipment and a couple of people and the 10' x 10' room gets too toasty to stay long. What I noticed with the GE unit is it would exhaust cool air just a few degrees warmer than it was providing. That is very efficient. The local electricity provider has an online way of monitoring your usage and I noticed on the days I was running the unit my electricity consumption shot up noticeably. While not a controlled experiment with all other factors remaining the same, the three days I checked there was a good jump above those days where the unit was not used. I attribute this to the exhaust factor mentioned and the lack of thermostatic control like a whole house air conditioning system. The GE unit never turns off when the room reaches the desired temperature. The last thing I will mention is the GE unit is far from quiet. When it's running, you know it because the low speed on the fan setting is pretty robust.

Our son works from home in a small room without a/c. When the temperature got into the upper 80's in his office where he has computers going all day, it became close to unbearable. What a blessing the GE portable a/c has been! It is efficient, powerful, attractive and takes up very little space. He's been able to work focus and work comfortably. Exactly what we needed!

It was great at first. It still cools but after awhile it randomly short cycles. Just cuts off leaving me wondering if I made a smart decision buying this thing. I cleaned the back filter & emptied the water out of the tank. There's barely any water because I live in Vegas, it's not very humid here just dry. Can't seem to find anything on how to fix this issue.

The only strange part is that the drain tube is right at floor level so to drain the condensation you'd have to lift the 41 pound unit up and sit it on top of something to drain it.

The house we live in currently is an old row home with central air. Unfortunately during the hotter months the cooler air doesn't circulate well in the upstairs bedroom. After installing this unit, the cool air is constant and keeps the room cool all night. Note: the room is 20 ft by 10ft.
