    Frowning Lid Upon Delivery

    After waiting weeks for this freezer it was delivered with a lid that would not seal. It appeared to be frowning at me. I am currently waiting for a brand new lid, my appointment is tomorrow, although I have not received a (separately shipped) replacement lid. Other notes are that it has no leveling feet or capability which I think is important for a freezer this size. The extension cord is rather short also. I do believe I am going to enjoy this once it is right. G.E. Saving grace is the service tech they sent me (#127), who was amazing. Old school repair customer service.

    On 2nd freezer now. 1st lasted 14 months

    On my 2nd freezer now, 1st one worked great until it randomly stopped working, high temp alarm came on (thank god). 14 months out so 2 months out of warranty. Thankfully the state of Maine has a lemon law so G.E had to honor this mishap since the life expectancy of this machine is surely not 14 months. Would be getting a 1 star but G.E had a new freezer in my garage within a week. Great customer service once they laws were understood. Would I buy a freezer from G.E again probably not. But this mind could change depending on how the 2nd deep freeze lasts.

    The unit is very rigid and the door and hinges appears well built. These were weak points on my prior Fridgidaire model. The inside basket rails are a bit less rugged than what I envisioned from the information provided online. Hopefully they will be adequate. Awesome to have option of 5 baskets and two different levels for the baskets.

    What a freezer !!

    This freezer was everything I hoped for. I recently completed a several month endeavor of raising a Black Angus steer, and splitting the cost and yield with my brothers. This freezer was imperative in being able to store and allocate a Full "dressed" steer so that we were able to keep all our products organized. Not to mention it keeps Ice cream free of freezer burn despite sometimes being in the freezer for a few weeks. I love my GE cabinet freezer. The cost seems to be about $16.00 per month to run….well worth the cost of about $0.53 / day to run !!

    This is great product. It works properly like it specifies. I really like the heavy duty trays that slide for optimal storage and access to the entire freezer. This is also an Energy Star appliance so yearly energy costs are minimal. I previously purchased a Criterion chest freezer from Menards because it was on sale and in stock but it lasted 3 months and quit working. I decided to go with a reputable brand name appliance this time and will never buy an appliance from Menards again.

    Door will not stay open

    I do not have a problem with it other than the door; it may be a good product but the door will not stay open comes down on my head when I'm looking for things I had a service technician out to look at it and they said the four hinges need to be replaced I don't think that's the problem I think there should be an adjustment on the hinges you can tighten to keep the door open , so now they're going to have to come out and put on new hinges and I don't think it's going to fix it they also said it was because it was out of level but I think it is pretty level and I think the hinges are just not strong enough for this door
