    I am only giving it 3 of 5 stars for two reasons: it only keeps the coffee hot for two hours and once you are down to the last two cups, it is almost impossible to pour them without making a mess.

    Like the size. Carafe keeps coffee much warmer than my old coffee maker & I don't mind how it pours unlike some other people's comments. Tight fit to use carafe to pour water into the top water section but can live with that. I use the screen coffee filter and a paper filter too and cleanup is easy. Best of all it makes a pretty good cup of coffee.

    The shape of carafe makes it very difficult to fill water basin. The shape of the carafe also holds coffee in that you can't pour out. On the flip side, the stainless carafe does hold heat quite well.

    As others have said, the carafe is difficult to empty into the reservoir due to poor design. You have to overfill the carafe to be able to get enough water into the machine tank because you literally can't empty it all into the machine. Dump out the remaining extra water before putting the carafe on the warming plate. I don't know why the carafe is insulated because it does not keep the coffee warm for long. Pouring coffee out of the pot is messy and more difficult than you'd think possible. I don't think anyone who designed and manufactured this machine ever tried using it, it's phenomenally poor design. I got it as a gift and I feel bad even trying to give this thing away.

    I was so excited about this coffee maker. But the "thermal carafe" does neither thing very well. It's not very "thermal" (an old fashioned thermos is better). And the "carafe" function is abysmal too. Almost 1/4 of the water and/or coffee remains stuck in the carafe because there's a lip preventing liquid from flowing out easily. The timer function is good though. Now I'm ordering a regular GE coffee maker with a glass carafe and I'll see if that works better....

    A fine pot of hot coffee

    I brew a pot of coffee every day, so over the past few months I have made at least 100 pots of coffee using this brewer. First the good: • Most importantly: It makes a fine pot of hot coffee in a relatively short time. • The insulated carafe keeps it hot for about an hour or two, after that I need to microwave it to warm it up… not bad. • The pour spout on the carafe does not drip… nice design. • Preparation to brew and clean-up is basic and familiar to anyone who has used a drip coffee maker before. • I have not had any overflow/backup/spill issues. • Although big, it looks nice and matches my other GE appliances. Now the bad/quirky things: • The clock does not display unless it is actively brewing coffee, or the auto-brew function is on. • There is no beep, tone or other signal to indicate that the brew cycle is complete. • Filling with water is tricky… it is hard to tip the carafe enough to fill the reservoir without spilling water into the uncooked coffee grounds. I usually open the top and pour water into the reservoir from the back, pouring onto the open top and down into the reservoir, which sounds like a disaster but works. • Finally, you need to take off the carafe top to pour the final few ounces of coffee into your cup. I usually get a several years of use out of any coffee maker, so I will review again after 1,000 pots.

    2nd times a charm...let's hope

    My wife purchased this coffee maker for me Christmas of 2021. It worked just as it said, it brewed great tasting coffee and the stainless steel carafe kept the coffee warm for hours after brew. After daily use for a couple of months it suddenly stopped working. I contacted GE customer service and after a little bouncing around between departments I finally got someone who was authorized to send me another unit. GE made this simple too, they sent the new unit and instructed me to return the old unit in the box they shipped the replacement in and provided me with the shipping return label. Their customer service and resolution efforts impressed me and is greatly appreciated. Needless to say, we purchased this coffee maker for the sleek, minimalistic design and features like the warming carafe and the auto brew. I am hopeful that the issue with the first one was a 1 off.

    Pot isn't easy to pour & doesn't stay hot

    I bought this maker because of its size for my limited counter space and I thought the stainless steel pot would keep the coffee warmer. I am disappointed with the pot design. It has a rim that doesn't allow for the water to pour into back easily without spilling and at the end you can never pour out all the water. I empty the left over water in the sink before I start. Then once it is finished brewing, the warmer on the bottom goes off. So the coffee doesn't stay as warm after 2 hours. And of course pouring out the coffee in the bottom of the pot doesn't work well. You have to take the lid off to get the last bit of coffee. Then finish rinsing with water to remove the rest of the coffee. I have to dry to get all the water out. I would not recommend or purchase again.

    This is probably the best looking coffee maker in the market. However, I was very disappointed it only lasted for about a month before it went completely dead. So when it worked, it has a few design flaws. It is very difficult to pour water into it as the opening is too narrow. The outside materials are difficult to clean. Also to get all the liquid out of the carafe you have to tilt all the way, and it won't come completely out. In short, very beautiful looking coffee machine that has some design flaws and was not built to last.

    Our glass carafe coffee maker shattered after falling from an open cabinet as we traveled with our RV. Our son gave us this thermos-style carafe coffee maker for Christmas.     All of my appliances are general electric. Very happy with them. When I saw the General Electric stainless steel carafe coffee maker I purchased one. Makes great coffee. First coffee maker the heating plate did not work they replaced it for me. Second coffee maker later just stopped working. I am now on my third coffee maker. As I said it makes great coffee let's see if third times a charm. The warranty department for small appliances were very helpful and very nice ladies. One small drawback is the water chamber is not easy to fill also the coffee pot when you wash it out always has water in it you must dry the inside by hand.

    Looks great but definite design flaw with carafe

    Love the way the coffeemaker looks with stainless steel and the clock. Unfortunately, the carafe does not pour out all the water/coffee unless absolutely upside down. I have to use a funnel to pour all the water out of the carafe into the reservoir. The carafe does keep the coffee warm.

    Confusing instructions

    We just received this coffee maker and can someone please explain the difference between step 1 water and step 6? Step one refers to pouring cold water to the into the water tank in the back of the unit (makes sense, pretty common in coffee makers) and then step 6 talks about pouring room temp water the tank?? What? Also "cleaning" comes up every time we hit the brew button. and like some many other the time does not stay on

    Perfect size for my counter space, looks great, easy to operate. Only issue is I wish it had a wider area or catch to pour the water into. It isn't the end of the world but would make it less messy at times. Pouring water from the coffee pot itself can be tricky. Again not a deal breaker for me as just use another container. I haven't used the program features yet so I can't speak on those. All in all I'm am happy with the purchase thus far!

    So nice looking AND great coffee!

    So many of the coffee makers these days are chock-full of features and are so bulky and take up so much space of your countertop. This one is not only simple but looks great at the same time. My only complaint of this unit is if you use the carafe to fill the water reservoir of the coffee maker, you have to almost turn the carafe upside down to get all of the water out. The design of the top prevents you from being able to do it properly without spilling coffee over your unused grounds. Therefore you have to empty most of the carafe into the reservoir and stop early and empty the rest of the water into the sink to avoid spillage. I highly recommend the unit anyway. My daughter said it looked bougie (sp?) haha!

    Really good but one big flaw

    Love the features, still figuring out the water to coffee ratio since I like a richer cup. The biggest issue for me is the carafe - the first cup or two pour out fine but then to get the last ones your have to tip the carafe so far over that coffee starts to spill out of the lid or do a "diner waitress" by taking the lid off and pouring out the side - both are messy and a pain. Otherwise it's very good.

    The heating element only gets lukewarm. The design of the carafe makes it difficult to pour the last amount of coffee in it because there is a large, overlapping lip. I think its a poor design. Pouring the water into the reservoir makes it easy to spill over the sides because of the poor design.

    It's a nice looking product however here is what I experienced; using the carafe to fill water resuvor is difficult. Also the hot plate shuts off after coffee has brewed so the carafe cools down quickly. I actually bought another coffee maker with a glass carafe.

    this coffee pot sucks!!!

    you have to use a pitcher to fill it up it turns off after it fills the pot with coffee it doesn't stay hot for 2 hours like it says overall really really sucks
