I'm a big fan of GE appliances.When I re-did my kitchen,I used the GE profile line- close to the "gourmet " lines. And I thought I would have moved before I needed new ones. So I got theses in 2002,and have loved using everyone. I just needed a new latch on my lower oven, and couldn't find replacement parts for my dishwasher. So I went to Home Depot, found a almost dead-on dishwasher , it was in stock and could be delivered in 3 days. Challenge was finding an installer as it was a built in. Lots of effort but found an installer and booked him one day after the delivery. Just finished my first load- excellent! Very happy! Recommend GE to anyone that wants looks and dependability.

The dishwasher comes packaged with the feet installed through wood attached to the pallet. This works great for holding it in place for delivery, but not so much when a forklift operator bumps the upper half of the unit. All four feet were bent back when I unboxed the unit. The feet are mounted through flimsy stamped steel runners, so when I bent the feet back it opened the threaded hole to adjust the feet. I had to stack nuts on the feet to get the unit to fit properly, I shouldn't have to fix a new product for installation. This was the last black dishwasher that I could find in my area and I had to drive 70 miles to get it, If the feet were not installed for shipping and the unit was banded to the pallet this would never happen. Overall the unit works fairly well and it is quiet.

The washing and drying is great on this dishwasher but the loading abilities on this dishwasher leave much more to be desired. I am the type of person that likes to put my smaller bowls on the upper rack to wash and the configuration of the rack constantly leaves the bowls falling out of where I placed them.

Few thoughts after running it a few times. The leveling feet were not square so only a portion of each foot is in contact with the floor. Be prepared to buy the 3/4" 90deg elbow to attach to your water supply line. As a a cyclist with bottles, I am a fan of the bottle feature but as an engineer I would rather water supply be distributed throughout the machine to better clean all my dishes rather than divert some water supply to a few specific glasses or bottles. It does have a new appliance smell when dry boost is on that I am hoping goes away. Overall though, its a good machine so far and I hope it lasts many years.

I love the look of this dishwasher, it's very sleek and the shiny black finish adds a sexy touch to my kitchen (I have the entire glossy black suite plus the GE washer & dryer in metallic gray). My favorite "feature" is the 48 decibel sound rating... the lowest I could find in this price range. I never hear it running and it's a blessing. I love the look of the stainless interior and the metallic grey baskets. I use the adjustable top rack a lot and now all my tall items fit properly in the bottom rack. I am handwashing much less! This unit cleans very well and in less than 60 minutes depending on the cycle I choose. My only quibble is the plastic wheels on the bottom rack that seem to drag too much along the stainless inside door when the rack is full. But that is a small thing, the rack does move in and out normally. I am very pleased with my purchase.

The Good - cleans well, very quiet, rack layout is very efficient, controls are effective Okay - the bottle washers are good, but since they're on the top rack you can't put tall bottles on them. The door feels light weight (flimsy?), not sure if this is an issue. The fold down shelves on the upper rack do not stay in the up-position, Be Careful - the bottom of the washing machine is significantly recessed so that a piece of moulding can be put in front to get a build-in-look. If you don't have a piece of moulding that matches your other cabinets, be careful about purchasing this machine,

Have used the dishwasher once. It was professionally installed. Best installer I've ever had. Since I've been waiting 4 months for a black dishwasher, I grabbed it online without seeing it. Am pleasantly surprised. Extremely quiet which is great for a condo. Racks seem sturdy and the glass holders are uniquely sturdy as well. It also matches my refrigerator very nicely. So far so good.

How much force required to open the door not everybody is 18 years old in fact the people can afford your dishwasher tend to be in the 60s and 70s. The spacing of the toys in the main cabin in the dishwasher is the most bizarre we have ever seen we put dishes in the fall over on their sides the only really strong feature of this dishwasher is that it gets the dishes clean

I've had nothing but problems with this dishwasher since installation. The controls continually lock up and the rollers on the lower basket fall off as the basket is rolled in and out of the unit. The rollers fall onto the heating element and are disfigured during operation of the unit and are "out of stock", probably because so many people have to replace them. This is a lemon, do not purchase this model. I don't have any experience with other models.
