This machine is super quiet, I can use it while my baby is sleeping in the kitchen with no concern of waking him up! The additional third - upper rack Is extremely useful especially for those hard to position items like tongs or long spatulas used on the grill. And the dry boost truly does get all of your dishes dried.

After having GE appliances for 27 years, we redid our kitchen and were comfortable with GD again. So glad we did. The Slate finish is beautiful, unique, and looks so understated and sophisticated with our dark blue cabinets. Several features we love about the DW. The third tray for utensils is so helpful. The spray for water bottles or vases is fantastic. The flexibility for the silverware tray. So far, the dishwasher has been cleaning very well! We had to learn how to turn it on (press switch twice). The hidden controls is also a nice touch. So very happy with this and our other purchases. Now hoping the counter top microwave in 21" comes in stock in slate.

I think the best feature of this dishwasher is how quiet it is. I also like the "Slate" finish which matches my other 3 appliances. It washes very well, but some of the cycles last 4 hours. I'm not sure why that is necessary. I am having some trouble with a piece of plastic trim coming off from the door and I've only had it one week. I have a service call to GE warranty, and they gave me an appointment for 2 weeks from now. Glad it's not an emergency!

Replaced my 4 year old GE with the same but updated model to match the rest of our appliances. The last one developed an unrepairable leak just out of warranty. Expected the new model to be as good or better. It is only better in the fact that it doesn't leak (yet). Louder, doesn't clean as well, doesn't dry as well, and touch controls are sensitive. Next time matching the set won't be as important.

So far I'm not impressed with it. The extra top tray only gets in the way of everything. I always put my cleaning brushes and spatulas on the bottom of the top rack. Didn't need a special tray for that. Water seems to be staying in the bottom area around the filter. I was told to turn on the dry boost to help with that. Mold started to grow around it so that's not good. The water does not seem to get hot like it should so I'm definitely not liking that either

This dishwasher is too low for comfort when loading or unloading. The bottom of the rack is only 9" from the floor. The door is only 6" from the floor. These dimensions make for too much stooping over! My last dishwasher was a full 5" higher and much easier to use. I realize now that the dealer had the dishwasher sitting on a raised box when I purchased it, so customers would not notice how difficult it would be to use. Also the racks do not hold as many dishes as my previous dishwasher. This dishwasher does not accommodate my Fiesta dishes well and my juice glasses constantly tip over. I would not recommend this dishwasher, nor would I buy it again. I actually dread placing or removing dishes from this product. I can not imagine what inspired GE to make a dishwasher this low and awkward to use.

Flooded our kitchen the first time running

The very first time running our newly professionally installed dishwasher, after a couple cycles, soapy water started pouring out of the bottom. Before we could get the power and water turned off, it flooded the kitchen and destroyed the ceiling tiles in our finished basement beneath the dishwasher. The dishwasher was determined to have come from the factory with a defective pump. Not sure what quality control GE has in place, but it greatly failed to ensure that this dishwasher was working properly creating a lot of stress and work in allowing a defective product to leave their factory. This is the first time we have ever purchased GE appliances and fear it may have been a mistake.

Although I thought that it sounded like a good idea, I am not a fan of the 3rd rack, since it limits the height of items in the rack for glasses and doesn't allow it to open/close smoothly. I easily removed it. A previous version of this dishwasher included holders to support the stems of wine glasses to keep them from falling over... I miss this feature. Dishes come out clean and spot-free.
