Where to start....
Purchased 6-14-19 and first dryer had to be swapped out by the depot because it was defective. ( sounded like a box of rocks were in the drum)
Second unit was better but has quirks... lots of quirks...
Door is plastic and metal and is so freaking cheap!
Creaks and groans like a styrofoam egg carton every time you open or close the door.
Hinges sag so door doesn't shut correctly.
Lint screen allows a ton of lint through
Drying sensor constantly starts and stops the dryer.. so freaking annoying!!!
So we went to timed dry to alleviate the persistent start-stop-start-stop crap.
Well today dryer stopped working. You can turn it on.. certain lights will work but cannot get it to hot.. only stays on cool..
Timer no longer works.
Will turn on but then shuts off.
3 years and done...

This dryer is the biggest waste of time. We purchased from Lowes and the first one was a complete dud, had to have it replaced. Fast forward through a horrible customer service experience, about a year in, the door broke. Now that I've had it 2 years, it won't power on at all. My advice would be to purchase a different dryer. This one is a joke.

I really like the dryer, the settings do not totally dry the clothes so you usually have to run them twice, overall a really good dryer

I used this for my young daughter and myself. We are not at 4 years old and it stopped agitating. It has electricity, but no noise - so I suspect it is the motor.
Looking to repair it, it is over a hundred dollars just to get someone out (before parts and labor) - and that will be in 2 weeks. Less than four years for normal use for a child and adult is unacceptable. Junk.

Dryer installed for less than two years and it stopped working. GE repair man stated the main control panel was bad and needed to be replaced. Replacement of the board would have been about the cost of a new machine.

Door is very hard to close. The lint filter is small and clogs quickly. Lint gets trapped in the filter housing instead of the filter.
The load sensor which sets drying time is a nice feature. High load capacity works for king size blankets.

Great design looks very sleek, easy enough for all ages to dry clothes well with a adult supervision, had dry for 3 years and untill today no problems, has always preformed like a GE dry should clothes are always dry never let this family down, just today the belt broke after three years of over half the three years no over 3/4 of the 3 years the dry has ran and ran and ran so honestly just a belt brake I'll recommend GE dry to anyone and everyone

I loved the way this dryer worked during the vendor's two year warranty (factory warranty is only one year). At 2 yrs 5 mo it went completely dead. I paid over $100 for GE's local service provider to diagnose both control boards dead, estimated repair cost $1100. Of course that's well over the cost to replace. So disappointed in GE, which used to be a great brand, for this waste of money, effort, and valuable resources.

We needed a new washer and my wife likes a matching set so we bought this dryer. Love the size, much larger than our old dryer. Dries very quick. Took twenty minutes to completely dry a blanket that would 45 minutes with the old one. The features are great and has a sanitizing feature which is handy for my son's clothing which is soaked in blood from his job.

This is the second dryer. First one the board died in the first month. Took it back and the second one the belt broke a year and a half later. The belt has broken again. I will not repair again and will buy a different dryer. One that doesn't say GE.

Through my research, I've found the two little metal bars inside the dryer are the sensors. They are allowing clothes and dryer sheets to snag between them and the wall of the dryer, eventually putting holes in lighter garments and even towels from time to time. I also cannot find the sensors to replace these anywhere. Big time disappointment.

I have two of these dryers, both purchased brand new from Home Depot: one for my use upstairs; one for a basement apartment rental. Within a year, both are not working correctly. One needs to go through four cycles to dry clothes. The other will not turn off when the cycle is done. Very unhappy with this product.

In the middle of a load drying and it just shut off. I thought maybe we tripped the breaker but come to find out the motherboard is bad. We got this dryer brand new in Oct. 2019 and didn't think you would need an extended warranty for something that should outlive even the extended warranty. GE needs to be able to back their products by more than a year without having to pay additional for an appliance that isn't cheap. After speaking to several people at customer relations basically our only choice is to either have to pay someone to come fix it which will still cost hundreds of dollars or buy another dryer at a "discounted" rate. The worst part is that we aren't even using this dryer very often. There are 2 of us with no children. At most we are doing maybe 2 loads a week. That's only 224 loads of laundry before it broke. That's unacceptable. This is not worth the money. Can't believe I have to spend hundreds of more dollars to get another dryer because GE can't back their products or do the right thing to provide me with a new dryer. I will never purchase another appliance from them.

I can't figure out why it makes a very annoying beeping sound. It's not very loud. I can't hear it unless I'm standing right near the dryer. Still... What is that sound??!!!
