    This was the most expensive brand I looked at and I was told by the dealer that it is very reliable. For $1,250 I hope it is. I did not get the top of the line model, but this one has no heavy duty setting, and the auto dry feature shuts off before all the clothes are dry. I generally set every load to 70 minutes and most things are dry by then. But this dryer doesn't have the features that my LG had for half the price. I am told it is better quality and will last a long time -- I hope so.

    After 25 years, we finally replaced our Kenmore set (still working but wouldn't fit in our new laundry room). There was no other brand we looked at other than Speed Queen. We knew their reputation for quality and longevity was what we wanted in our next washer and dryer. This set is awesome. Both machines are so quiet we had to check that it was running even though our laundry room is right off the living room. The auto water level works perfectly! I was worried that it wouldn't wet all the clothes and leave dirt and detergent behind but it always fills up enough to wash everything completely. We are so happy with our purchase.

    This is has been a nightmare. When the dryer was installed...they had to swap the door and it did not work properly. ALSO, the rubber gasket around the dryer door was defective. THEN a 3rd party repair team (which they have been very nice to work with) came out to repair and we are on our THIRD repair with the door . It STILL will not shut properly! The repairman is coming back this week. I have been dealing with this problem for about 5-6 weeks now

    I have not found the machine to be as quiet as I was told. It sounds more like my washer going into a spin cycle. I also have concerns about the lint filter. I haven't found it to be the easiest to clean & I have found lint on my clothes. I think as you remove clothes from dryer, they pick up lint from the filter. Too new to know if it's as dependable as advertised.

    needed dryer with LP Conversion kit

    I have only had this dryer for one month. I have a LP Gas one which I had so much difficulty finding a LP Conversion kit for any other brand. This was my only option for a dryer at this time due to lack of LP conversion kits. It was more costly than other dryers I priced. It seems to be fine and I am thankful I could get a conversion kit.

    I really like how quickly the dryer gets clothes dry, but everything seems to come out more wrinkled than my old dryer. For the price, the lack of an end-of-cycle buzzer seems really chintzy and a stupid inconvenience only as a way to get the consumer to buy the next level dryer (more expensive).

    The dryer is great as far as drying. But there is one issue that needs to be fixed. The metal grill in the top left corner of the machine reacts with the heat and becomes frayed and snags your clothes as they tumble dry. Causing hundreds of dollars of damaged clothing. I love the product itself, but would never buy another one until this piece of metal would get fixed, there has to be some indestructible material that could be used. Thanks for listening.

    Had Speed Queen washer 5 years. Added dryer!

    Easy to use! Love the knobs instead of digital buttons! 1 glitch. Dryer ran all night 1st night-- I put on a load and went to bed. Called my vendor. He researched it and found out that you must ONLY turn the knob clockwise, otherwise it messes up the contacts. I did not know this and had turned it counter clockwise to set the dryer before starting it. I turn it clockwise only now and for 2 months have had NO problems. Live and learn. Seems like a great dryer. Hope I get many years of service!

    I bought the matching dryer to the washer I bought 2 1/2 years ago. The old Whirlpool washer I replaced would constantly get out of balance and when it stopped draining properly that was the last straw. The Speed Queen I replaced it with hasn't got out of balance at all. Not one the first time. They are just well-built machines that are made to last. The lonely repairman seems to work for Speed Queen now. You get what you pay for. I bought the basic simple machine that works

    It seems like most brands of washers have gotten less reliable, less sturdy and less capable in recent years. They've taken away my ability to make choices about how I want to wash my clothes. SQ makes life simple again! My previous washer left soap residue on my clothes, made it impossible to choose an extra rinse, frequently got off-balance even with smaller loads. So far - after two weeks - this SQ washer is wonderful. The technician who installed it told me he had only been on two maintenance calls for SQ in his years of service - and one of those was an outlet that didn't work. I plan to have it forever!
