    Dries clothes efficiently but has problems

    We purchased this dryer 18 months ago. It's mostly run well up until the last two months. Unfortunately we have had difficulties with the way the blower sends the air through the lint screen and ended up with a suddenly very loud and inefficient dryer due to buildup of lint within the machine (despite the fact that we clean the lint screen religiously). We had to replace the blower outside of the warranty window; an additional cost which makes me hesitant to recommend it.

    I have had my dryer for less than a year and a half and have had to have it serviced 3 times. It is not quiet like they say it is and had to have the motor replaced after having it only 9 months. To be honest my other brand , less expensive dryer worked better.

    I bought this machine a month ago and could not be happier. The noise is a minimum when it operates and sometimes I forget that I am doing laundry until the end of cycle signal. It has more than enough room for a king comforter and it gets all my loads cleaned impeccably.

    Loud from day one

    Bought a new high end Electrolux washer and dryer last year and have had 3 service calls from day one. Listen to the loud rollers. The matching washer has an even louder drain pump. Electrolux refuses to replace this faulty product I spent over $1200 on. Customer service reps tell me to contact my retailer. Luckily, I bought the extended warranty and will keep using it to replace the rollers. Looking forward to buying a different brand when it expires. Don't waste your money!

    Beware Blower Assembly Design Problem

    Have owned this dryer for just over 2 years. Started making loud noise. Repair tech said the blower assembly has a design flaw (too small) and collects lint throwing it off balance. Electrolux even has a service bulletin about it. Tech said many of them are failing in first 3-4 months of owner ship and was surprised mine had lasted this long. Asked for a parts and/or labor concession from Electrolux since it's a known problem. They said I was "outside of their guidelines" to receive any consideration. So add another 25% on to the purchase price of what you might pay for this dryer because it will cost you at some point.

    Motor quit after 4 loads of laundry

    I literally put 4 loads of laundry through the dryer and it quit. The motor went bad already. Then I had to wait for almost 2 weeks for it to even get fixed. I spent a lot of money on this and upset that it broke within the first week of owning it. I purchased these because they were supposed to be the best. I just hope I do not continue to have problems.

    The Electrolux 517 dryer is perfect for my needs. For starters, the dryer has the stainless steel drum to prevent any scratching. When it comes to the preset cycles, there is more than I can use! You can also change the various options with each cycle. This model also has the moisture sensor so my clothes are never under or over.. they always come out perfectly dry so it protects my clothes!!

    I™€™ve had my set for about two weeks. They may look intimidating but very easy to use. They make about as much noise as any washer dryer. Not overly noisy but not whisper quiet. It™€™s a washer and dryer so they make the normal noise. I never bought a colored appliance and this was the first time. Never know I could love an appliance so much!! I did quite a bit of research and these got high reviews over the 617 models. So far, I™€™m thrilled with these.
